View 5 RepliesMy public library uses Jasmine Digital Library for e-books and audio books checkout. It appears that most of the e-books are of the Adobe e-book format. The library site says the Adobe format can be read on an iPad yet if I download a book to my Windows desktop and then connect my iPad and try to drag the book from the desktop to 'My iPad' as shown in iTunes I get a message that the download to the iPad did not work because that format can not be read on the iPad.
how to get an Adobe e-book onto an iPad?
My library has "Overdrive" which allows me to check out audiobooks that I can put on my iPad and iPod.
But there are also books in formats called: Adobe EPUB ebooks & Adobe pdf eBook.
I have downloaded an Adobe pdf eBook. Is there an app, a way, to get this over on my iPad to read?....even tho the Overdrive site sez that iPads are "not supported" by Overdrive.
Ya'll have talked alot about pdf readers (?) can one of these help transfer this book to my iPad.
I recently purchased a book on Kobobooks site with Adobe Digital Editions PDF. The book displays fine on my PC using the Adobe Digital Editions, however, I cannot find a reader to display it properly on the iPad2. Kobo App wouldn't display it in the Library so can't use it.

View 7 RepliesI am trying to figure out if Ipad will work for me. I mainly want to read ebooks & watch videos. Web surfing would be very nice too. Does Ipad download videos directly or do you have to use itunes off your computer to sync? I have an Hp computer that is 5 years old & it takes a long time to download videos. I am also wondering if the 16 gb is too small for what I need. I would love to have some advice.

View 2 RepliesI was disappointed to realize that I cannot borrow and read my local library's selection of e-books via OverDrive? Any ideas if or when the iPad will be compatible? Alternate methods of converting these e-books to a format that the iPad will recognize and allow me to read?
View 3 Repliesdoes anyone else find it impossible to read the digital New Yorker on the iPad? If you try to move the page so that it is centered on the screen, it jumps right back to where it was. And parts of the magazine page are always off screen. Try to move it and it jumps right back. there must be some way to fix this

View 4 RepliesMy library uses Overdrive with Adobe DRM for their ebooks. I am not currently interested in owning a book; I just want to download it to my Ipad and read it and then let it be returned. Since Adobe uses Flash to encode the book, it looks like it won't work on the Ipad right now. Until Adobe comes up with an app, is there a workaround?

Is there any way for students/teachers/enthusiasts to get foreign language editions of books via iBooks? If not, is there a source that will provide compatible files? I'd really rather not have to have a number of separate eBook applcations on my iPad if it's not necessary.
